THE BIG DAY!

What an insane weekend!! I am so overwhelmed but so overjoyed with all the encouraging words of support. Thank you to every single person who has made a donation or shared the word of my cut. Also if you want to donate it still isn’t too late. You can be guaranteed that your part has helped support a young person affected by cancer. Every year another 23,000 young people have their worlds flipped upside down by cancer.

A massive shout out to @nicolekae_creative for offering her skills and helping me stand up to cancer. I am so extremely obsessed with my new look. You were the perfect person to cut my hair. Thank you immensely!!

Although the 18th of May was a hard day. It would have to be one of my favourite days I’ve had this year. To be surrounded by so much love from everyone at Canteen I could not have asked for anything more. From starting my day crying on the plane, to cutting my hair, to taking part in meaningful consults with the Youth Advisory Team and ending the day with lots of laughs and smiles at Hijinx Hotel. I am so fulfilled and proud.

I am standing up to cancer with Canteen

This year marks a decade since I lost my father to cancer. That's ten birthdays celebrated without him, ten Christmases spent missing his presence, and countless milestones navigated alone. From high school to university graduations, to learning to drive, there's a void where his guidance and love should have been.


But amidst the grief and longing, I found guidance and support through Canteen. Since joining in 2012, I've forged invaluable connections that have helped shape me into the determined, enthusiastic, and young leader I am today.


As a way of saying thank you to Canteen for its unwavering support, I am Raising It and chopping my long luscious hair to ensure other young Aussies impacted by cancer still receive the support they need during this difficult and isolating time.


Canteen supports young people living with cancer, whether it is their own diagnosis, or that of a parent or sibling.


Canteen is once again heavily relying on Canteen Connect the online platform for counselling and peer to peer support during this even more challenging time in a young persons world. Now more than ever they need the support of Canteen.
